A 5 Minute Car Meditation for Busy Humans

Dear Friend,

During the first week back to school, I spent nearly four hours a day stuck in my car: driving to and from two different schools, sitting in car line, and doing my best to dodge traffic jams. By the end of the week, I wasn’t just tired… I felt like I was spiraling into a pool of stress. A stress pool of chaos.

I kept thinking: I cannot spend this much of my life sitting in a car. I felt so behind on everything! The minutes felt wasted, the to-do list was growing, and my shoulders were practically glued to my ears.

By day three of this cycle, I realized I needed to shift something. I couldn’t keep thinking of car time as wasted time, or worse, a punishment. (Because let’s be real: when your kids are fighting in the backseat about who’s looking out whose window, or begging for a new song every two minutes, being in the car can feel like the ultimate punishment).

So instead, I decided to make it the perfect place to pause. To breathe. To reset.

I started with a few long, slow, steady breaths. After just a couple of minutes, I felt different. Calmer. Lighter. And surprisingly… productive. I was actually taking care of myself in the middle of chaos. That tiny shift changed everything.

And because I know I’m not the only one who feels like you're living in a carline or trapped in endless traffic, I created something to share with you: a 5-Minute Car Meditation. It’s simple, grounding, and perfect for those moments when you need a reset before diving back into whatever pool is waiting for you. (Hopefully not a stress pool.)

Here's to you, dear reader. I hope you enjoy and are able to find some calm in between the chaos.

Love,

Della
